Wooler Hostel Boards unveiled

Officially opened on Tuesday 2nd June, these boards are now in position and give a backgound to the history of the former Youth Hostel in Wooler. Roger Miket handled the words. The images mostly come from his extensive collection.
The image on the left is one of the main boards in the main area of the hostel and tells the story of the Women’s Land Army at the hostel during the Second World War.
The image below shows the individual room baords which appear on the backs of the doors. Each of eight rooms is named after a former Women’s Land Army volunteer.

Duddo Stone Circle Board

Now erected on site at Duddo, this board was commissioned by Duddo Farm with text by Roger Miket. It gives a background to one of Northumberland’s few extant prehistoric stone circles.
Glendale Map Leaflet

Just in from the printers (Azure of course!) is this map leaflet which acts as a guide to the heritage and attractions of the Glendale area.
